Privacy policy

The short version: we collect what the site needs to work, we don't sell it, and the public parts of your profile are public because that's the point of a record.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, and — if you sign in with Discord or Google — the basic profile they share (name, avatar). We never see your passwords for those services.
• Profile: the username, display name, bio, links and country you choose to add. These are public.
• Content: eggs, evidence, votes, reports, discovery claims. Eggs and evidence are public and published under CC BY-SA 4.0; your votes and reports are stored but not shown publicly as yours (points are, via the public ledger).
• Technical: standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamps) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We don't use tracking beyond what's needed to run the site and understand aggregate usage.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage
• Vercel — hosting and serving pages
• YouTube — evidence videos are embedded with YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which sets no cookies until you press play
• We may add privacy-respecting analytics and error monitoring; this page will list them.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can edit your public profile anytime. You can request a copy or deletion of your account data at legal@wildwasteland.com. On deletion, your account and profile are removed; the points ledger keeps its historical events in anonymized form, and published egg content remains under its CC BY-SA license credited to your former username unless you ask us to strip the attribution.

Children

The service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll announce material changes on the site.
