Wild Wasteland is the record of who found which easter egg first. Every egg has its proof, the hunter who wrote it up here and the minute they did. Once a moderator checks a dated public source, it also names the person who found it first. Writing about a find, making a video or streaming a hunt? Here's how to use what's here.
Credit a find
Every egg has a Copy credit line button (on a phone, under More ways to share). It copies one line: the egg and its game, who gets the credit, the date, whether moderators checked it, and the link. Keep the link: if a credit is ever corrected, the page it points to is too.
“The hidden room that named easter eggs” (Adventure): Discovered by Adam Clayton, 15, Salt Lake City · verified on Wild Wasteland · https://wildwasteland.com/egg/the-room-that-named-easter-eggs-1980
- Documented by
- The hunter who wrote the egg up here first, to the minute. Set when it's posted; it never changes.
- Discovered by
- Who actually found it first, sometimes years earlier and somewhere else. Until a moderator checks it against dated public proof it's a claim, and the credit line says so.
- Verified
- A moderator confirmed the egg is real and correctly described.
When a line names a finder, please name them too.
A whole game, or a whole hunt
Every game's Credits tab lists its eggs with their lines. Copy all copies them in one go, and the spreadsheet (CSV) puts the finder, the dates and the proof in columns. For example, Grand Theft Auto VI's credits.
A hunt's Who found what page lists every verified find, first finds first, each with its line: GTA VI launch week, from when it opens on 18 Nov 2026.
Embed an egg
Copy embed code, under More ways to share on any egg, gives a small card for a blog or a wiki (Copy light embed for a page with a light background). It links back and updates itself when the egg is verified. Some blog and note tools turn a pasted egg address into the card by themselves (they read the page's oEmbed link); where yours doesn't, paste the code.
On stream
A hunt's page has Show the live board on your stream: an address for a browser source in OBS or Streamlabs, with the top ten redrawn as the board moves. It's on GTA VI launch week.
Reusing what's here
Egg write-ups and the screenshots hunters upload are published under CC BY-SA 4.0: use them anywhere, credit the hunter and Wild Wasteland, and share alike. Videos stay their makers' (we embed them from YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and X), and game names, covers and art belong to their publishers.
Logo
The name is set in Press Start 2P, a free pixel font, in a cyan-to-magenta gradient: cyan #6CE0DD, magenta #C000C0, on ink #161834. Please keep the egg as it is: no redrawing, recoloring or other marks on it.
