Rapture's founder Andrew Ryan is named after Ayn Rand. Shuffle the letters of his name and you get hers with a few left over, and his Rapture is built on her Objectivist philosophy. The man guiding you over the radio, Atlas, takes his name from her novel Atlas Shrugged.
How to find it
Ryan introduces himself in the film that plays in the bathysphere on the way down to Rapture at the start of the game. Atlas is the voice on the radio right after.
