Back to the Future1 egg in this basketMarty leaves 1985 from the Twin Pines Mall. In 1955 he runs over one of Old Man Peabody's two pine trees. When he returns, the sign reads Lone Pine Mall. The film shows you the consequence of time travel in a single sign, and never says a word about it.
Compare the mall sign in the opening DeLorean scene with the sign when Marty returns at the end. Peabody's farm scene in 1955 explains the difference.
