Before you pick a save file, a giant Mario head floats on screen and you can grab and pull his nose, ears, cheeks, chin and cap. The model came from a real-time vertex demo by programmer Giles Goddard. Since this was the first Nintendo 64 game, the face also got players used to the analog stick before they started playing.
How to find it
Press Start at the Super Mario 64 logo. Move the hand cursor with the Control Stick and hold A to grab part of his face and stretch it.
